Tips for cleaning your vape pen

If you want to get a consistently delicious flavour, then you need to maintain and clean your vape pen. After each vape, e-juice builds up in the tank or chamber. Over time this juice can burn and give off a gross flavour and it can also cause issues with your pen that might make it malfunction. The best way to avoid this happening is to keep your pen clean. Here’s how we recommend cleaning your vape pen:

• Step one: If your vape pen can be disassembled, do this. (Some pens use an integrated tank that can’t be removed.) Unscrew the tank from the battery, and remove the coil.
• Step two: Wipe down the battery with a damp cloth. Whatever you do, don’t submerge the battery or pour water or any kind of cleaning liquid on it.
• Step three: Take all the tank parts (drip tip, glass, O-rings, base) and soak them in warm water. We don’t recommend adding any kind of cleaning liquid, but you could use baking soda, rubbing alcohol, or vinegar to help get off all the residue.
• Step four: Use a small brush or old toothbrush to scrub the surfaces of the tank parts.
• Step five: Leave the parts on a paper towel to dry, or pat them dry with the towel if you want to use your vape pen immediately.
• Step six: When you’re ready to put the pen back together, check the connectors to make sure there’s no residue there. Wipe any dirt off with a cotton bud or brush. Now you can assemble your vape pen again.

Note: cleaning the coil is a bit different from the rest of your vape pen. You’ll never be able to get these completely clean, but doing some cleaning on them will help you to get more life out of them. If you’re getting old flavours coming through your coil, E-Cigarette Reviewed recommends leaving the coil to soak in some kind of grain alcohol for a couple of hours. Lift it out, blow on it to release some of the sediment, then submerge again for another two hours. You can then use a wire or toothpick to poke out some of the gunk.
