Achieving the Perfect E-Liquid Balance
In most e-juices, the manufacturer strikes a balance between flavour and vapour production. This is achieved by using vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol.
Generally speaking, there are two types of e-liquids available:
- High PG (propylene glycol) – made for pods and smaller devices. This e-liquid is thin, like water and produces a smaller cloud. Usually mixed around VG50/50PG
- High VG (vegetable glycerin) – made for mods and large devices. This e-liquid is thick, like golden syrup and produces a large cloud. Usually mixed around VG70/30PG
When selecting an e-liquid, it is important to consider the type of device you have. Smaller e-cigarette devices require a VG50/50PG ratio, while larger “cloud maker” vapes need a higher VG ratio, such as VG70/30PG.
